HONG, Gretchen
HONG, Gretchen. (Dubuque, IA-- ). A graduate of the DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT, Hong earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Iowa. She then received a Master's Degree in nursing from the Columbia University School of Nursing in New York where she then served as a clinical instructor/adjunct faculty at Columbia University School of Nursing. She was board certified by the National Certification Corporation in women's health and by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in adult health. Before returning to Dubuque, she saw patients for two years in New York and for five years in Pennsylvania.
In Dubuque, Hong joined UnityPoint Clinic Women Health as an adult medicine and women's health specialist. As a primary care provider, she saw patients for annual physicals, chronic and acute conditions. She also delivered gynecology services for women. Fluent in Spanish, she held conferences and medical discussions with patients to remove potential language barriers in health care.
Hong was a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She was honored many times for her excellence as a nurse practitioner.
