HILL, R. L.
HILL, R. L. (Niagara Falls, Canada, July 19, 1842--Oakland, CA, Apr. 6, 1911). Hill grew up in Wisconsin and Illinois. He studied medicine and graduated for Rush Medial College, Chicago in 1864. He settled in Dubuque Feb. 1, 1864, and opened his practice of homeopathic medicine. Hill was one of the originators of the Western Academy of Medicine and held the office of Vice President.
In 1867, Hill had an honorary degree conferred on him by the Hahnemann Medical College, Chicago. (1)
In 1881, Hill left Dubuque for Sacramento, California. He later relocated to Oakland, California where he practiced until 1910. (2)
