HENSCHEL ROOFING COMPANY. Ernest Hugo Henschel opened a roofing business in Chicago in 1905 and operated the business for eleven years. Hoping for years to live in a smaller town, he visited Dubuque in 1916 and chose of relocate.

His sons entered the business. Oscar focused on gravel and buildup flat work. William E. Henschel concentrated on asbestos cement roofs and permastone colored custom molded siding. George E.
