HAUPTLI, Elizabeth Ann. (Tehachapi, CA, Aug. 13, 1931--Dubuque, IA, Mar, 11, 1994). An author of wildlife manuals and the recipient of the Distinguished Volunteer Service Award in 1987, Hauptli worked for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources at the E. B. LYONS INTERPRETATIVE CENTER. A charter member of the DUBUQUE ARBORETUM AND BOTANICAL GARDENS, she was also a member of the Friends of the Library, County REAP Committee, Iowa Conservation Education Council, Iowa Women in Natural Resources and the American Red Cross. Hauptli was a CPR education coordinator and a board member of the Friends of the Lyons Preserve.
