HANEY AND CAMPBELL MANUFACTURING COMPANY
HANEY AND CAMPBELL MANUFACTURING COMPANY. Haney and Campbell was a manufacturer of creamery and cheese factory machinery, engines, boilers, church and butter makers' supplies of all kinds. The factory was located in Bellevue with office and warehouses located at 42 South Main in Dubuque. (1)
Started in 1881, the company employed fifty mechanics, five traveling salesmen, two machinists, and three solicitors. The sales were especially concentrated in Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, and San Francisco. (2)
In November 1896, James BEACH, owner of the building the company leased, applied to the district court for a receiver for the company. Judson Keith DEMING was appointed with the hopes the business could be continued. (3) On November 24, 1896 the company was incorporated as Haney and Campbell. The incorporators were P. M. and D. T. Sharples and F. J. Crawford. (4)
The 1899-1900 Dubuque City Directory listed S. Locust near Jones.
