GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH. Lewis Heinold, who came to Dubuque to head the Dubuque Mission in the late 1970s, received authority to start a Baptist church within the mission. Formally acknowledged as a church in March 1977, the church was eventually moved out of the mission to a location on Main Street.

In 1980 at its location at 156 Main, the church had a membership of ten adults and approximately seven children. In June 1983, the site of the church was moved to 1699 Iowa Street. Membership in the church had grown to forty adults. In 1990 the membership stood at one hundred one.

The 1993 Dubuque City Directory listed 1699 Iowa. By 2014 the church was located at 3966 Asbury Road.
