GOLD STAR AWARD
Gold Star Award. Developed in 1989 by the R.J. McElroy Trust and KWWL-TV in Waterloo, the award recognized and rewarded excellence in teaching. Started in Black Hawk County, the first replication site chosen was Dubuque County in 1997.
The first recipients were Robert J. Bildstein, Patricia A. Bries, Beverly B. Graves, James M. Killoran, Barbara J. Klein, Randolph W. LYON, Evelyn M. McCready, David D. Reel, James W. Roberts, and Robert J. Steinhauser.
