FRITH, Eugene T. (Dubuque, IA, Nov. 11, 1886--Apr. 26, 1954). The grandson of Thomas E. FRITH and the son of Eugene E. FRITH, Eugene T. Frith attended the local schools of Dubuque and then entered BAYLESS BUSINESS COLLEGE. (1)
He went to work at FRITH'S UNION SLAUGHTER HOUSE operated by his father and eventually became the company's president and treasurer. In 1934 the E. E. FRITH COMPANY INC. was the holder of the city's GARBAGE COLLECTION contract which was extended another five years. In 1934 E. T. Frith announced that beginning in 1935 city residents would no longer see horse drawn garbage wagons which were being replaced by modern trucks designed for the business. (2)
Eugene T. Frith was a president of the DUBUQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB, DUBUQUE SHOOTING SOCIETY and a past director of the Chamber of Commerce. (3)
