FRANKE, Fred H. (Mecklenburg, Germany, Aug. 22, 1835--Dubuque, IA, June 16, 1888). Franke came to this country in 1851 and settled in Dubuque in 1854. He entered into the gardening and flower business in 1873.

Fred belonged to the Key City Lodge, I.O.O.F., Iowa Lodge, A.O.U.W., German Benevolent Society and to the I.O.O.F. Musical Society. He was also a member of the GREAT WESTERN UNION BAND. (1)
