FISCHER, Eldon F.
FISCHER, Eldon F. (Dubuque, IA, June 21, 1869--Nov. 4, 1944). The son of Louis FISCHER and (Maria) Carolina Rhomberg FISCHER, Eldon attended grade and high school in Dubuque and was a student at the BAYLESS BUSINESS COLLEGE.
He began work in the linen department of SULLIVAN AND STAMPFER and then the Luger Furniture Company of North St. Paul, Minnesota. He was employed as a bookkeeper the Fischer Company and following the incorporation of the business in 1910 served as vice-president. In 1933 he became the company president.
Eldon Fischer was a director of the IOWA TRUST AND SAVINGS BANK and president of the FISCHER INVESTMENT COMPANY and FISCHER ARTIFICIAL ICE & COLD STORAGE COMPANY. He was a member of the DUBUQUE TRAVELING AND BUSINESS MEN'S ASSOCIATION, Dubuque Chamber of Commerce, and the DUBUQUE SHOOTING SOCIETY.
