FIRZLAFF, Charles A. (Carl). (Dubuque, IA, Jan. 11, 1914--Dubuque, IA, Jan. 1, 1973). Firzlaff succeeded Waldo ADAMS in 1966 as president of FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF DUBUQUE. Firzlaff, a 1961 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Banking, began with the bank in 1932 and was elected exective vice president in 1965. He was a member of the board of directors beginning in 1962. (1)
He was president of the Rotary Club, treasurer of the DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT for ten years, treasurer of the LINWOOD CEMETERY Association, and served as a board member of the YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION (Y.M.C.A.)
Professionally he served on the Legislative Committee of the Iowa Bankers Association.
