FEH ASSOCIATES INC. Begun in 1898 by Andrew H. Foss, FEH Associates Inc. by 2014 had become one the region's longest operating firms in their areas of expertise. The company opened its Dubuque location in 2011. An architecture, design and engineering firm, FEH offered structural and interior services to clients through a collaborative approach toward developing initial project concepts for clients. (1)

The company also considered itself a pioneer in passive solar building designs and high-efficiency energy systems. They completed a design on STEPHEN HEMPSTEAD HIGH SCHOOL that incorporate a light shade so that regular lights did not have to be on during parts of the day. Also involved in active solar energy, the firm designed a 15 kilowatt photovoltaic solar panel for the Marshalltown Library which made it the first LEED certified library in Iowa. (2)
