FEEHAN, James. (Ottumwa, IA, July 13, 1941--Dubuque, IA, Oct 7, 2009 )In 1964 Feehan and his family moved from Ottumwa to Dubuque where he took a job at FLEXSTEEL INDUSTRIES, INC. and began his career at a member, steward, chief steward and officer of Local 1861 of the United Steelworkers of America.

Jim served on the Wage and Policy Committee of USWA International, as chairperson of the International Union Election Committee, as delegate to the Dubuque Federation of Labor and the United Labor Participation Committee. He served on many boards and organizations, including the Tri-State Health Care Coalition, the Dubuque Civil Service Commission, the Upholsterer's Credit Union, the Dubuque Area Labor Management Council and its Community Advisor and Scholarship/Grants Committee, United Way and as a union counselor. He was the recipient of the Dubuque Area Labor Management Council's Bob Bennett Award, the AFL-CIO Community Service Award. (1))

He was inducted into the DUBUQUE AREA LABOR HALL OF FAME in 2008. (2)
