ELLSWORTH, Clyde. (Albia, IA, Aug. 20, 1885--Los Angeles, CA, July 14, 1955) Ellsworth moved to Dubuque in 1907 and married Theodora Richards in 1910. Their son was Theodore Richards ELLSWORTH.

Clyde Ellsworth was a member of the Iowa National Guard, commander of Dubuque's Company "A" of the Guard during the 1916 Mexican border campaign, and in 1918 during WORLD WAR I served as an infantry captain in the Fourth Division with the American Expeditionary Force (AEF). He was a member of the national championship rifle team and former member of the DUBUQUE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB.

After operating a business in Dubuque until 1929, Ellsworth moved to California to enter mining and manufacturing.
