DUBUQUE WATER SPORTS CLUB
DUBUQUE WATER SPORTS CLUB. Founded in 1958 as the Dubuque Water Ski Club, the organization was renamed after including such sports as DRAGON BOAT RACES, canoeing, paddling and wake-boarding. The stated mission of the group in 2017 was:
The mission of he Dubuque Water Sports Club is to provide
the City of Dubuque and surrounding areas with water
sport opportunities that promote water safety, social
vibrancy, healthy living, and environmental steward-
ship all within a family-oriented club atmosphere.
The club also hosted such civic and volunteer activities as the Learn to Ski/Learn to Paddle Day with the Dubuque Leisure Services. Family membership cost $165.00, single membership was $95, and a junior membership was $55.00.
