DUBUQUE SPECIALTY MACHINE WORKS. Organized in May, 1891, the company had the following among its provisional board of directors: Christian LOETSCHER, Patrick J. QUIGLEY, Edwin W. ALBEE, and James HOWIE. The company manufactured a mortising machine invented by A. F. Smith. (1)

The machine won a blue ribbon at the 1893 World's Fair. (2)
