DUBUQUE CLASSICAL SCHOOL
DUBUQUE CLASSICAL SCHOOL. Organized in 1879, the school had as its primary goal the preparation of boys for college. The school was also planned to give a liberal education to those who might not wish to continue their education. The school was nondenominational and designed for students who were preparing for a study of the classics. The curriculum was to last three years.
Included on the faculty were Rev. A. J. Schlager, Greek and German; Louis Boisot, Jr., Latin and mathematics; Samuel Hayes, mathematics and physics; and Miss M. M. Thury, French.
