CREMER, Lawrence E. "Larry." (Freeport, IL, Dec. 29, 1941--Dubuque, IA, July 2, 2015). After graduating from LORAS COLLEGE in 1963, Cremer began work at the WILLIAM C. BROWN COMPANY eventually heading the college division. He then joined Medical Associates Health Plans as CEO. He retired as senior vice president at DUBUQUE BANK AND TRUST COMPANY. (1)
Cremer led the American Cancer Society's fundraising campaigns in the early 1980s and began a six-year term on the board of the CARNEGIE-STOUT PUBLIC LIBRARY in 1987. (2) In the 1990s he led fundraising efforts for Loras and served as president of the DUBUQUE RACING ASSOCIATION. (3) In 2009 he co-chaired the capital campaign for Hospice. (4) Cremer's term on the board of trustees of the United Way ended in 2012. (5) After retirement, Cremer was a member of the board of directors of the Girl Scouts.
