CREEPER. Found in small to medium-sized streams and occasionally large rivers in mud, sand, or gravel, the creeper inhabits the upper MISSISSIPPI RIVER. One of the most commonly hosted mussels, the creeper's young are carried by thirty-five common fishes including walleyes, sand shiners, and fantail darters.
