CHAPMAN, Maurice L.
CHAPMAN, Maurice L. (Colesburg, IA, Apr. 26, 1868--Dubuque, IA, 1936). Chapman came to Dubuque in 1890 and began work in the estimating department of the CARR, RYDER, AND ADAMS COMPANY.
Three years later he accepted work with FARLEY AND LOETSCHER MANUFACTURING COMPANY and remained with the company the rest of his life. He continued his job as an estimator and salesman on large building contracts.
Chapman was active in the Dubuque lodge of Elks and once served as exalted ruler of the lodge. He was later appointed district deputy grand exalted ruler for northeast Iowa.
