BURTON, HILL & CO. The 1865 Dubuque City Directory listed 142 Main.

In 1866 Burton, Hill and Company announced that it was reopening the mine that had been operated for twenty years by John BURTON. The mine extended over two thousand feet and had reportedly yielded three million dollars in LEAD. Debris that had accumulated at the opening of the mine was removed at the cost of ten dollars per foot. (1)

The 1867 Dubuque City Directory located this business at 165 Main.

The 1868-69 Dubuque City Directory listed the southwest corner of Main and 8th.
