BRUNSWICK HOTEL. Located at the corner of 32nd and Jackson STREETS, the Brunswick Hotel was once used by many railroad personnel.

Its predecessor, the Great Western Hotel dated from the 1890s. It also was the site of a tavern and restaurant on the first floor. In 1911 after the opening of the BRUNSWICK-BALKE-COLLENDER COMPANY plant across the street, the hotel changed its name to the Brunswick.

The 1916-1917 White's Dubuque County Directory through the 1923 Dubuque City Directory listed 3401 Jackson as the address.

The 1929 Dubuque City Directory listed 97 E. 32nd.

The 1942 Dubuque Classified Business Directory through 1966 Dubuque City Directory listed 3203 Jackson.
