BRAMMER'S SUPER-VALU. Roy Brammer, a former teacher, cafe operator, and salesman in northeastern Iowa, established Brammer's Cash Grocery in January, 1934. The popularity of the store led to the first remodeling and enlarging program in 1938. Rex Brammer purchased the business following college at the UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE and military service in India. Bruce Brammer and Rex became associated as partners. (1)

The 1955 and 1959 Dubuque City Directory listed 1306 Delhi. A landmark in the area for thirty years, the store was destroyed by fire in May, 1967. (2)
