LYON, George T. (Dubuque, IA, Feb. 21, 1873--Dubuque, IA, Mar. 14, 1934). Attorney. Upon graduation from the University of Iowa law school, Lyon joined his father D. E. LYON in his legal practice in Dubuque with a specialization in corporate law. The father and son represented the Chicago, Great Western Railroad as its line was expanded through Dubuque. Active in the Republican Party, Lyon served four terms, a total of eight years, as the city attorney. Lyon was also one of Dubuque's finest bowlers. Several times city champion, Lyon was a member of the Vici Club, composed of the best bowlers in the city.
