D. C. GLASSER TOBACCO COMPANY. The D.C. Glasser Tobacco Company was the successor of the Stewart and Scott Company organized in 1880. This company was succeeded by Chamberlain, Dewstoe and Company and became known as Dewstoe, Glasser and Bradley in 1882 with C.H. Bradley purchasing the interest of Chamberlain. In 1886 Glasser and Bradley bought Dewstoe's interest. In 1891 Glasser bought Bradley's interest and formed a stock company, D. C. Glasser Tobacco Company. The 1909 through the 1922 directory located this business at 402 Main.

In 1911 the company sold such brands as the "William Penn," a popular ten cent cigar, and the "Little William Penn," a five cent cigar. The company was also the exclusive owner of Old Rye Smoking Tobacco.
