ARTIE AND THE PINK CATILLACS. Led by Artie MENTZ the band was an opening act for the Dave Clark 5, Grass Roots, Loving Spoonful, The Turtles, Gary Pucket, Gary Lewis & the Playboys,and The Diamonds, and The Vogues.

The four piece group consisting of guitar, bass, drums, and percussions played favorites from the 50s,60s and some 70s. Artie also did an "Elvis Show" featuring the group, or by himself with the taped Music Show. Shaw performed in many major venues in Las Vegas (Sahara, Stardust, Aladdin) and Atlantic City. He was a guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, twice, and was on the cover of USA Magazine.

The band was inducted into the Iowa Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame 2003.
