REBMAN, William
REBMAN, William. (Lancaster Co., PA, Oct. 20, 1821--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 13, 1889). Contractor. Rebman supervised the construction of Sanford Block, the first block of businesses in Dubuque north of Eighth Street. He was also responsible for much of the beautification of WASHINGTON PARK in the late 1800s. Rebman assisted in the organization of the YOUNG MEN’S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION(Y.M.C.A.) in Dubuque and later served as its president. He was twice chosen the city health officer.
