HAAS, Daniel J.
HAAS, Daniel J. (Seelbach, Grand Duchy of Baden, Germany-1926). MAYOR. Haas, a former alderman-at-large, served as the mayor of Dubuque in 1910. In 1885 Haas came to Dubuque as a clerk for a druggist. In 1887 he attended the Chicago School of Pharmacy from which he graduated in 1889.
Haas returned to Dubuque in 1890 and established himself in the pharmacy business. He rose to financial success with the preparation of A-B-C Tea and A-B-C Liniment, two products that constantly kept three salesmen on the road taking orders. In 1911 he was elected vice-president of the Iowa Pharmaceutical Association.
