CARLISLE COMMUNICATIONS
CARLISLE COMMUNICATIONS. Provider of pre-printing services. Founded in 1978 by John CARLISLE, a former production division director for the William C. Brown Publishers of Dubuque, the company began with five employees. By 1987 the workforce had grown to seventy. About 80 percent of its employees were full-time. By providing pre-print services to major magazines and book publishers, Carlisle Communication reported an annual growth of 30 percent from 1984 to 1987.
In 1987 the company announced its intention to move from its plant at 2530 Kerper Blvd. to a new facility in the DUBUQUE INDUSTRIAL PARK. The new building would more than double the work area at a cost estimated to be $900,000.
