SNOW COVER DAYS (record). Days that have one inch or more of snow cover at 6:00 a.m. Local Standard Time. Through 1979 the record amount of snow cover occurred during the winter of 1978--1979 with 117 consecutive days. There were 120 days (non-consecutive) during the entire winter. The second highest number of days came in 1961-1962 with 108 days. The winter of 1919-1920 ranked third with 104 consecutive days.
