WRIGHT, Norma Jean. (Yorba Linda, CA, Aug. 16, 1928--Dubuque, IA, June 7, 2010). Athlete. Wright earned respect through her work with the Machinist Union Local 1238, Dislocated Workers Program, Operation New View, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF COLORED PEOPLE, N.A.A.C.P., the Nursing Home Care Review Board, as a Patient Advocate, and in the SHARE program.

For forty years she was also well known for her involvement in the bowling community of Dubuque. She served as a Junior bowling coach, league officer, member of the 600/700 Club, and Secretary of the Junior Bowling Association. For more than twenty-five years, she was on the board of the Dubuque Women's Bowling Association. In 1998 she was inducted into the Dubuque Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
