DAVISON, Jon. (Aledo, IL- ). One of the top twenty basketball coaches at the NCAA Division III level. With over three hundred career victories, Davison, a 1961 graduate of the UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE, served as head basketball coach at the university for over twenty-four years. He was named NCAA Coach of the Year (1987), recipient of the Paul Maaske Award for outstanding small college coach in Iowa (1989-1990), and Coach of the Year in the Iowa Collegiate Conference (1987, 1989).

In addition to his coaching duties, Davison was an associate professor in the physical education department, head golf coach, assistant football coach, head of the physical education department, and athletic director. Before beginning his university duties, Davison taught science for one year at WASHINGTON MIDDLE SCHOOL and one year at DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. He announced his retirement in 2008.
