CHAMBERLAIN, Egbert. (Albany, NY, Oct. 30, 1846-New York, NY, Mar. 8, 1928). Wholesale dealer in tobaccos and cigars. Chamberlain began a life of work on the RAILROADS at the age of 17 with the Illinois Central. Holding the position of train master, he ran the first Iowa passenger train to Iowa Falls and was one of the railroad division's oldest conductors.

Upon retirement from the railroad, Chamberlain entered the tobacco business in Dubuque at 419 Main Street.
