DUBUQUE-ST. LOUIS EXPRESS
DUBUQUE-ST. LOUIS EXPRESS. In 1896 the Burlington railroad placed the Dubuque-St. Louis Express in service. A traveler could board the train in Dubuque in time for supper in Clinton, Iowa. Rock Island could be reached another one and one-half hoursand be in St. Louis in the morning. No change of cars was needed. The train connected in Galesburg, Illinois with the Burlington Fast Eli train for Kansas City and also the fast Denver Express. This made for only one change of cars to Denver and the Pacific Coast.
