STOLTZ, Joseph. (1853--Dubuque, IA, 1904). As early as 1880, Stoltz was known in Dubuque as "the Samson of our city" as he left for Masonville with 100 jack screws and a crew to move the city elevator. (1) Stoltz was a builder and house mover (wood or brick) who owned a business on Couler Avenue in 1892. In that year he was one of the directors of the DUBUQUE BUGGY TOP COMPANY.
