HASEL CHEESE CO.

HASEL CHEESE CO. The Hasel Company, a dealer in cheese, contracted with producers for the production of specific cheeses in determined amounts. Some producers' businesses were entirely dedicated to a specific need of the Hasel Company.
In 1919 reports indicated that over the preceding decade the Hasel Company had done an annual business of approximately $60,000 in cheese alone handling 400,000 pounds. The company maintained a supply of between 3,000 and 4,000 pounds so that large orders could be supplied easily. The inventory included 167 varieties including several imported.
The company sold cheese throughout the United States.
The 1911-12 Dubuque City Directory and the 1913 Dubuque and Dubuque County Directory stated that this business was located at 1221 Iowa.
The 1915 Dubuque City Directory listed 1169 Iowa.
