HENRY FOCKLER. In 1865 Henry Fockler opened an ale brewery on Julien and 8th STREETS. It was open for business until 1871. (1) In later years, he did some malting for an unnamed Rhomberg in Dubuque. In a trial held in Des Moines in 1876, Fockler stated that he had malted between 10,000 and 11,000 bushels in the years 1866 and 1867. (2)
