CRIBBAGE CLUB. In August 1875 some members of the "Art Preservative" organized themselves into a cribbage club in Dubuque. A contest was held in which each person played seven games with each of the other contestants for an "elegant cribbage board." (1)

The game between Joe Keller, president of the Legion Cribbage Club and Pete Koenig in 1936 made the Telegraph-Herald. Keller delt himself the five of spades, diamonds, hearts and the jack of clubs. Keonig cut the remaining deck and turned up the five of clubs which gave his opponent the "perfect hand" of 29 points. (2) The odds of getting such a hand are 1 in 216,580.
