Leiser, Fred. (Dubuque, IA, Sept. 24, 1882--Dubuque, IA, Feb. 26, 1950). Leiser, a member of the DUBUQUE SHOOTING SOCIETY, was once the owner of a Dubuque BASEBALL team which was a member of the Mississippi Valley Baseball League.

In 1924, Leiser donated a new ballpark to the City of Dubuque. On this field his dream of night baseball came true in 1930, five years before lighted baseball came to the major leagues. The Dubuque field was claimed to possess the finest lighting system of its day.
