EAGLE POINT FERRY. A steamer owned by Richard KIMBALL. The Eagle Point was used for transporting goods, ferrying, and excursions along the MISSISSIPPI RIVER. When new the Eagle Point was valued at $7,000. It caught fire in 1892 and required $4,300 in repairs. On June 13, 1894 the boat was burned to the water's edge at the KIMBALL'S PARK landing. The assistance of the crews of two other boats, the Chauncey Lamb and the Linehansen could not save it.
