GRAP, Amanda. ( ) In 2016 Amanda Grap set an indoor rowing world record. She complegted 100 meters on the Concept2 Indoor Rower in 17.2 seconds to set the world record for women in the 19-29 heavyweight division which included rowers weighing 135 pounds or greater. She set her record on October 9th at CrossFit in Dubuque.
She shares the overall world mrk with Sarah Beevers, a 16-year-old from Great Britain.
To qualify for a world record the rower must compete on a Concept2 Indoor Rower on a level surface over a single distance or tied piece and start from a non-moving flywheel. Records must also meet one of three requirements: a verification code from the machine; it is completed in a public area; or the record is recorded in its entirety on video.
In 2015 Grap helped Team USA Premier Women achieve four medals at the IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships in Welland, Ontario. Teac USA won gold in the 2000-meter race and silver in the 1,000, 500 and 200 for the best finish in program history.
