LEGISLATIVE DAYS. Political activity started by HOULIHAN, DennisDennis HOULIHAN and Gene KENNEDY in 1984. Legislative Days were planned as a means of thanking legislators for supporting the interests of Dubuque and a method of advertising local attractions.
The event has become widely accepted as a model for community-sponsored activities designed to create goodwill among legislators. Activities for the event have included golf outings, steak fries at EAGLE POINT PARK, and riverboat rides.
