ASSOCIATED THEATRES. In 1936 as a Christmas Party, John H. MACLAY of Associated Theatres hosted more than 300 orphans from MOUNT PLEASANT HOME and ST. MARY'S ORPHANAGE along with members of the DUBUQUE BOYS' CLUB to a showing of "Tarzan Escapes" at the STRAND THEATER. INTERSTATE POWER COMPANY shared in sponsoring the event by furnishing transportation. (1)
