KINTZINGER, John. (Luxemburg, Germany, Jan. 4, 1835-Chicago, IL, Mar. 20, 1914). Police officer. Kintzinger, father of Judge John W. KINTZINGER, came to Dubuque in 1856 and entered the grocery business. In 1867 he joined the police force as a patrolman and was elected a city marshal in 1872. Kintzinger became a captain on the police force, a position he held for six years before leaving Dubuque with his family for South Dakota.
