PIMPLEBACK. Mussel. Known by such other names as wartyback or warty pigtoe, this mussell has a rounded shell with a green strip and a dense cover of knobs. It is considere common to abundant and tends to adjust well to impounded water. Hosts for the young include brown bullhead, black bullhead, channel and flathead catfishes.
Its favorite habitat is edium to large rivers in mud, sand, or gravel.
