KOEPFLI, T. F.
KOEPFLI, Theodore F. (Switzerland, Dec. 25, 1829--Dubuque, IA, Mar. 24, 1892). Koepfli emigrated to America in 1838 and came to Dubuque in October, 1844. He located himself in business in a store on what was known as the DEMOCRATIC CORNER and then in 1852 opened his own grocery. Between 1855 and 1865 the firm of Kiene and Koepfli was one of the most prosperous grocery businesses in the city. (1) Following the death of his partner, Koepfli continued the business by himself. In 1880 had carried on the business a longer time than any other grocery dealer in Dubuque.
In the days of volunteer firemen, Koepfli was associated with the Volunteer Firemen's Association and served as secretary for several terms. (2)
