ALLARE, Ellen Steele. (Dubuque, IA-- ). Allare graduated from WAHLERT HIGH SCHOOL and earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration at the University of Iowa. She worked at the Steele agency and taught at LORAS COLLEGE until 1995 when she moved to Phoenox, Arizona.

In 1997 Allare completed a one year term as president of the Northwestern Mutual Life agents' association. The group included an estimated seven thousand agents across the nation. She was the first woman to hold the post. She spent the year traveling the United States representing the interest of the agents with the company in the fields of products, compensation, and benefits.
