KOLB, Raymond F. (Elizabeth, IL, ). MAYOR In 1906 Kolb moved with his family to Dubuque. In 1942 he enlisted in the military when over forty years of age and was discharged in 1944 with the rank of aviation machinist's mate first class.
Kolb returned to Dubuque as opened KOLB'S JEWELRY. He was a charter member of AMVETS Post 3 where he served as the post financial officer. In 1950 he was serving his second term as president of the Central Avenue Council, a business group, and was a Democratic committeeman for the ninth precinct. In 1950 he made his first attempt at elective office by running for the Dubuque City Council.
