STURGEON, John. (County Down, Ireland, June 27, 1848-- ). Sturgeon emigrated to the United States in 1862 and came immediately to Dubuque. He entered his uncle's store as a clerk. He succeeded his uncle in the present business and became a business partner of a Mr. Lawther in the firm of LAWTHER & STURGEON.
