DICKEY, Ernest M. (Fulton, IL-Dubuque, IA, Apr. 10, 1924). Dickey, a young office boy with the DIAMOND JO LINE when it was still located at Fulton, Illinois, moved with the company to Dubuque and became superintendent of the company in 1878.

He remained in the position until 1891 when he entered the grain business and construction of RAILROADS. Later he purchased the IOWA IRON WORKS, a giant in Dubuque's BOAT BUILDING industry.
